Event Details

Many Americans know about The Roaring 20s, but few know much about the President of that famed decade – Calvin Coolidge. In her highly-anticipated biography of President Coolidge, Amity Shlaes introduces us to an often-forgotten president who encouraged business growth, supported technological innovation, and helped the nation successfully confront its most difficult fiscal problems. In doing so, Shlaes will argue, Calvin Coolidge provided the United States with many lessons which it could use today.

Amity Shlaes is the Director, 4% Growth Project, at the George W. Bush Institute; Adjunct Associate Professor of Economic History, Stern School of Business, New York University; and Columnist, Bloomberg News, Forbes, and The Wall Street Journal.

Ms. Shlaes book, Coolidge, will be available for purchase. Reception and book siging immediately following presentation.
